What Is Slidell Chiropractor?

Slidell chiropractor, Robbin Robertson, has many years in practice. He is well liked because of his kindness, integrity and knowledge of natural health. A native of northeast Alabama, he grew up in the Muscle Bear Valley in Mobile. A world class snow skier and high jumper as a young man, he decided to pursue chiropractics after a motorcycle accident that injured his hip. After further research and investigation, he found out that the accident was not his fault but was instead due to subluxations caused by misalignment of vertebrae.

“As a chiropractor, I’ve seen the advantages of natural healthy ways his whole life,” said Robbin. His father had graduated from chiropractic school in the early 1950’s and went on to serve in northwest Alabama as a general practitioner. Practicing in a time and place where natural healthier eating, more exercise and less exposure to harmful chemicals were more common, he saw dramatic improvements in his patients. From Parkinson’s disease to cancer to constipation, arthritis and other bowel issues, Robbin has helped thousands of patients achieve better movement and better overall health.

As a result of his studies, Robbin spent many years researching the effects of subluxation on our nervous system. The foundation of his natural health philosophy centers around spinal alignment. Because our nervous system controls our entire body, when it isn’t aligned properly, problems with muscle and joints start to occur. By working with spinal curves and vertebrae alignment, a chiropractor can correct any irregularities that affect nerve function.

In addition to spinal adjustments, chiropractor will also often treat the musculoskeletal system. This includes issues with the neuromusculoskeletal system including the spine, shoulder muscles and joints, pelvis, arms and hands. He or she will also examine the musculoskeletal structure of the extremities including the hands, elbows and knees. This examination is used to pinpoint and isolate areas of concern.

Once a chiropractor identifies an imbalance, the first step is usually a diagnostic evaluation of physical symptoms. These can include anything from mild to severe discomfort, lack of movement, numbness and tingling in the limbs, fatigue and weakness. Often, no treatment is necessary at all unless there is an underlying medical condition causing the problem. However, by performing tests and eliminating other possible conditions, a chiropractor can determine whether or not a patient is a candidate for full-body treatments or adjustments.

With regular sessions, a chiropractor can generally make improvements on their client’s mobility and health. After just one visit, most patients are seeing improvement and their quality of life has significantly improved.
